A program of 5 agile delivery teams evolved from reactive feature delivery to viewing the business capabilities enabled by the program as internal products
This transition occurred over a one-year period and fundamentally shifted how teams were organized, responsibilities of teams, how it was determined what teams would focus on and the definition of success
Using data to inform decisions became a key success factor for this transition
Ashley's Actions
Collaborated with the Portfolio Manager to define an initial set of collective product performance indicators and product delivery performance indicators that aligned to the program value drivers of speed to market and more valuable delivery
Served as the Product Owner, articulating the who, what and why to the analytics team during implementation of defined KPIs on a real-time dashboard
Developed a roll-out plan to introduce the why behind these measures, traceability to big picture value drivers and how these measures will provide the basis for data-informed continuous improvement
Established a cadence to inspect KPI results, analyze trends, inform problem-solving activities and shape experiments to improve
Coined the concept of a value showcase where Product Owners shared the why behind each feature and intended customer outcomes prior to delivery starting. Introduced the feedback loop to the value showcase by partnering with Product Owners to share results of measurable customer outcomes during the program-wide town hall forum
